Rosanna & Matt's Wedding - High Barn, Penrith - 10/09/2022

Rosanna & Matt’s wedding fell on my birthday & what better present than to spend the day capturing this gorgeous couple in the beautiful scenery of the Lake District, surrounded by their friends, family & fur babies!

When the couple told me they were having a festival themed wedding with tipi (Special Event Tipis) on the top of a hill in the Lakes, I just could not wait to be involved. I adore rustic, outdoor weddings where the natural beauty of the setting speaks for itself & is brought to life further by the bride’s vision for all things personal & handcrafted with care. Rosanna & Matt’s day was hosted by High Barn - Edenhall Estate; set on a small hill, it offers stunning, panoramic views of the Eden Valley, the Pennine Fells and the Lake District. The barn is surrounded by woodlands so you feel as though you have the Garden of Eden all to yourself!

I was joined on the day by videographer Bradley Green from (lordcreatesweddings.com) who was an absolute pleasure to work alongside. In the bridal suite we met Lake District based make-up artist Keseme Goodwin from (keseme.co.uk) & hair stylists Greg Malloy Hairdressing who delivered the perfect mixture of boho glam & natural beauty for the blushing bride. Rosanna opted for the most delightful dried flower crown that was so striking in its appearance & yet the neutral tones meant it paired harmoniously with her sunkissed hair.

To compliment her effortlessly glamorous hair, Rosanna had chosen the most delicate, floaty dress from Bellissima Brides | Home (bellissima-brides.co.uk). Wow, oh wow – strappy with cold shoulder detailing & neat, little buttons running through an a-line waist that gave way to layers of beautiful chiffon & lace that cascaded dreamily to the floor. For her bridesmaids & adorable flower girl Rosanna had chosen dresses in differing styles & shades of green; a colour palette that sat beautifully against the natural setting of the venue.

The beautiful bouquets & floral arrangements – which echoed the neutral tones & green accents of the dresses - were supplied & styled by Fresh flowers | Flowers from my Attic | England & what a breath-taking job they did. Each beautiful arrangement was rustic yet delicate, both earthy & pure – they tied everything in to perfection.

Rosanna arrived at the venue in true festive style in a Land Rover (supplied by Chauffered classic vehicle services by BSpoke by Spike) adorned with white florals & ivy! She was soon joined by her bridal party & two beloved dogs who were in the safest hands thanks to dog chaperone Annabel from About | Pawfect Occasions | Penwortham. As the guests arrived & made their way to their seats, Matt waited – perhaps a little nervously – in the tipi, it was definitely time for the main event…

The ceremony was the perfect mix of heartfelt vows & humorous anecdotes – words spoken by loved ones & an extra special ring bearer made for a wonderful time had by all.

After the ‘I do’s’ had been said & the confetti had been thrown it was time for taking in the views & playing lawn games whilst enjoying an Aperol Spritz (thanks to THE LITTLE BARN BAR) in the vast, beautiful grounds. Laughter & love were accompanied by the stunning sounds of the steel drums courtesy of About Milnthorpe Steel Band - Milnthorpe Steelband & of course a splash of rain because, after all, it was the Great British summertime! The impromptu downpour failed to dampen spirits though as a sea of wonderful, white umbrellas popped up to shelter guests from the passing shower.

Before the wedding breakfast began, there was time for Rosanna & Matt to sneak off into the woods for some beautiful ‘newly wed’ shots & what a backdrop they had. The scenery was simply stunning & the couple were absolutely radiant. After getting friends & family in on the action it was time to retreat back to the tipi for a delicious feast served up by Bespoke Event and Wedding Catering in Yorkshire (homegrownhospitality.co.uk).

As dusk approached, the speeches got unerway & there was plenty of laughter and a few tears too. After the speeches the couple tucked into their wedding breakfast which was my cue to slip away & leave the happy couple to enjoy the rest of their evening with their nearest & dearest.

I want to wish Roasanna & Matt a lifetime of happiness & love – thank you for choosing me to be part of your special day, it was wonderful.
