I was really looking forward to this wedding, not only because it was at the stunning Le Petit Chateau, but also because it was my brothers wedding! The wedding took place on a bright, beautiful & crisp winter’s day in November. After a long, l o n g wait – thank you COVID – it was third time lucky for Friday the 4th after having to cancel two previous dates. As it turns out, the stars aligned & this wedding was definitely one worth waiting for!
Ian & Lauren were set on getting married at Le Petit Chateau, a location comparable to something you would see in a Disney film. If you are hoping to put a fairy tale twist into your happily ever after then definitely take a peep. The French-inspired venue is bursting with originality & splendour, it is a place of fun & fantasy that was guaranteed to be the perfect place for the couple to start a life overflowing with love & laughter. With rooms adorned with cascading curtains, crystal chandeliers, antique gold furniture & giant marble fireplaces, I could not help but be awestruck – particularly in the majestical grounds & boutique bedrooms. Everything at Le Petit Chateau felt so magical.
I was joined at the bridal prep by hair stylist & make-up artist Lisa from Lisa Jones Hair & Make-Up. Lisa created the perfect mixture of glamour & effortless beauty for the blushing bride with a natural colour palette & a chic up-do complete with the most delicate, winding floral hairpiece.
To compliment her effortlessly glamorous hair, Lauren had chosen the most stunning dress that hugged her figure flawlessly. With beautiful embroidery, delicate buttons, a deep-v neckline & a perfectly pooling trail, there could not have been a more perfect match. The bridesmaids looked stunning in their neutral dresses with bead-embellished necklines & my niece the flower girl, was the image of her mummy in a near-matching dress that almost stole the show!
The beautiful bouquets & floral arrangements – which had been lovingly created by Wisteria Avenue were wild & wonderful. Traditional in colour & full in appearance, bouquets fit for a queen.
As Lauren made her way down the aisle, the look of love in Ian’s (not so dry) eye was palpable.
The ceremony was the perfect mix of humour & heart which, I would say, is the secret to any happy marriage!
Refreshments in the garden followed as guests chatted & laughter was aplenty especially when it came to comparing caricatures draw by the very talented Barrie James.
Before the wedding breakfast began, there was time for Ian & Lauren to sneak off into the stunning grounds for some fabulous photos of which opportunities are aplenty. The happy couple were then joined by their fur-baby, their human baby & eventually all of their nearest & dearest so I could capture everybody suited & booted & looking absolutely fabulous!
The speeches followed & left smiles etched across everybody’s faces. Then it was onto the dancing & of course the cutting of the beautiful cake custom created by Sara's Kitchen which was a very tasty end to a wonderful day.
